Kelly G. Jurgensen joined the firm as a partner in 2015 and has been practicing law for over 15 years. Kelly’s primary areas of practice are trust administration, probate administration, adult and minor guardianships and conservatorships, estate planning, small business organization and tax planning.  While Kelly enjoys assisting clients plan their estates in the hopes to avoid probate, she will also help families navigate the probate process in an efficient and cost-efficient manner.

In addition, Kelly uses her master’s in tax law to assist clients to minimize federal estate taxes along with tax compliance and IRS controversy matters. She is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Children’s Mercy Planned Giving Council, the Eastern Kansas Estate Planning Council, the Kansas Bar Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.

She is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas along with the United States Tax Court.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in both Economics and Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (B.A. 1999). Kelly also earned her law degree (J.D. 2003) and her advanced law degree of Master of Law in Taxation (LL.M. 2004) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Kelly resides in Lenexa, Kansas with her husband Chad and their son Garrett. She has also an avid kayaker and has attempted the MR340 four times and successfully completed the same three years in a row.
