Tad Layton maintains a diverse practice in the areas of trust and estate litigation, estate planning, real estate, and general business law. His experience as a law school instructor and practice with small boutique and large nationally recognized law firms informs his approach to the practice of law. Tad enjoys providing practical legal guidance and developing creative solutions to complex client matters.

Trusts and Estates
As a trust and estate attorney and former trial advocacy instructor, Tad is uniquely trained to resolve disputes arising from trust and estate administrations, declaratory actions, trust modifications and terminations, trustee removal actions, and breach of fiduciary duty cases. In addition, Tad assists clients in all aspects of estate planning and trust and estate administrations.

His representative clients include individuals, public charities, private foundations, banks, trust companies, trustees, and beneficiaries as plaintiffs and defendants in will and trust controversies throughout the United States.

Real Estate and Business Law
Tad’s real estate experience includes real estate sales, acquisitions and development; retail, office, warehouse, and agricultural leasing; and sale/leaseback transactions. He also represents business clients in stock and asset purchase agreements; buy/sell agreements; due diligence; entity selection and formation; joint ventures; dispute resolution; and, dissolutions.

Tad graduated from Washburn University School of Law, Juris Doctor, with emphasis in tax law. He was Order of Barristers and the recipient of the annual American College of Trial Lawyers of Kansas Award. He has been recognized as a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers Rising Star.
